Can you burn scented lamp oil in a traditional standard oil lamp?

I was told that I cannot because the scented oil contains alcohol. I don't want to set myself on fire. Can you burn scented lamp oil in a traditional standard oil lamp?
If the lamp uses a normal wick then there is no problem. Lamp oil can be in part alcohol itself. In fact alcohol lamps are very common.

Test a small amount of oil first as the fragrances in scented oils can smell different when burned. Most are made to be diffused by the alcohol during evaporation.

Cut a small piece of wick off and put a few drops of the oil on it. Place the wick on a metal spoon and use a match to light it. The small amount of oil will burn off quickly and let you see if the scent remains normal.

BE FIRE SAFECan you burn scented lamp oil in a traditional standard oil lamp?
i have never had a problem using scented oils in mine.the scents are oils also because alcohol is water based and oil and water don't mix.just make sure your wick is trimmed and the lamp is clean
