What causes some cars to burn engine oil faster than other cars?

one car I own usually makes it to the next oil change date..with oil still full and just needing changing, while another car I always have to check to make sure the oil is not low before its oil change date. Why is that?





Also, I am assuming that driving with low engine oil would contribute to transmission problems in a car...is this correct?What causes some cars to burn engine oil faster than other cars?
Usually more miles on a engine causes engines to use more oil.Also if they are defective when their built or if they are not taken care of properly they can use oil,and along that same line if the engine is not broken in properly it can cause an engine to use oil.Engines that are run low on oil can blow up,or the wear from doing that will cause the engine to use even more oil.What causes some cars to burn engine oil faster than other cars?
higher mileage engines might burn more oil due to worn parts such as rings or valve seals. try running thicker oil or oil additive to help stop oil consumption. could just be leaking out while driving (any oil spots on the ground?) and low engine oil will not cause any transmission problems, low trans fluid/oil on the other hand will ruin a trans very quickly
Might be a problem with the engine burning more fuel, or a leak underneath. No! Transmission problems are not related to oil I believe.
