Why does my 2000 fiat brava 1.2 sx petrol burn oil had head gasket done and timing belt changed 65k miles?

oil and water not mixing and car never over heats sometimes white smoke comes out of exhaust i think i think it may be the seals how much would this cost to fixWhy does my 2000 fiat brava 1.2 sx petrol burn oil had head gasket done and timing belt changed 65k miles?
Try a thicker grade of oil (higher viscosity). The piston rings are probably worn %26amp; this happened when the engine overheated %26amp; knackered the head. Why does my 2000 fiat brava 1.2 sx petrol burn oil had head gasket done and timing belt changed 65k miles?
White smoke is normal until the engine warms up.

If it`s burning oil,you should see blue smoke from the exhaust.

If you get blue smoke when you start up first thing in the morning,or pulling away from lights after a wait,it`s most likely the valve stem oil seals

Otherwise it`s the piston rings.

If there is no smoke, check for leaks.

It`s difficult to give a price, some car`s valve stem oil seals can be replaced without removing the cylinder head, but most not.

If it`s the rings, the head and sump will have to come off,and maybe the engine will have to be removed to remove the sump.
You say white smoke is coming out of the exhaust?? If your engine was burning oil, it would be emitting blue smoke.

White smoke tends to mean water is entering the exhaust system.

If it is burning oil, it could be from, as already mentioned, the piston rings. Or it could be the valve stem oil seals...which requires quite a lot of labour.
what engine oil are u ,using . it sounds like piston rings ,some how oil is passing through

they could be worn. or wrong oil been used

Oil burn tell me what to do pls?

ok so i was cooking like half an hour ago and i dropped a drop of very hot oil on my toe someone tell me what to do pls. and bdw it came like a bubble filled with water and i blew it.Oil burn tell me what to do pls?
God I hope you didn't listen to the moron who said to put egg whites on it. Man, people are stupid.

Burn care is very simple. Cold running water for at least 15 minutes. Period. NO ICE. Your aim is to stop the burning without cutting circulation. Ice cools the area too rapidly and impedes circulation. Do NOT pop blisters. It's your body's natural bandaid. If you do, keep it as clean as possible - have a clean, dry dressing on it - the only thing you might want to put on it is Neosporin but not right after the burn. Never put anything oil-based on a fresh burn. Actually, never put ANYTHING but water and fresh bandages on a new burn. No egg whites, aloe, butter, ointment, olive oil or any of that other old wives tale bullhockey.

Keep it as clean as you can and it should be OK after a couple of days.

Good luck!Oil burn tell me what to do pls?
you have a second degree burn DO NOT POP THE BLISTER, it is protecting you against getting an infection in the wound.

Keep it in cold water till it stops hurting, you can repeat that if it starts hurting again, but not more than 10 minutes at a time.

Then just protect the blister, and it should have healed between 7-10 days.
Been there, done that. I feel for you. I just kept it cool. I used cold water or washcloth soaked in cold water. I didn't use ice because I remember hearing that ice can actually be bad for burns - like it's too cold, too much of a shock. So, I would check that before icing it.

Mine blistered - I think I had two on one foot, and one on the other. I had to wear maryjanes for a while because they were the only shoes that didn't hit the blisters. They took a bit to heal. Once the blisters went down I was left with dark purple marks that eventually faded. I still have light discoloration, and it's been 2 1/2 - 3 years.

If you think it's really bad, you could go to a doctor. I never did (maybe I should have, don't know), but they healed, and nothing ever went wrong.
Breaking the blister puts you at risk for infection. Put some neosporin on it and cover it. Keep it clean and covered until it develops a scab.

Next time: cold water for 15 mins, don't pick.
get egg whites and put on the burned area or alo vera !!! ice it keep it cool the effected area or if its real bad head out to urgent care good luck

Yes. That's such a small percentage, it won't be a problem. Just don't put it in your car.I have some extra Olive Oil can I add it to my number 2 fuel to burn?5gal to 275gal oil?
At $8+/quart I'd find something better to do with it. Sell it to a neighbor for 8/gallon and get 4 gallons of #2 oil.
sorry I have no idea. but you better find out other wise you could end up breaking your car.
No, it has a very low flash point and leaves a nasty residue

  • Jalapeno oil burn help please???

I cut jalapenos today for salsa, now my hand is on fire!!! How do I stop the acid from burning me?? I've tried washing, baking soda, epsom salts, milk soak, lidocaine sunburn relief gel, lanacane spray, NOTHING WORKS!!!!! I even did what webmd said and tried to soak in vegetable oil, only made it worse. Cant find pres nurse advice line # and I'm not desperate enough to go ER yet. any WORKING solutions to neutralize it please? ice water feels great, but pain returns as soon as I take it out.Jalapeno oil burn help please???
That sucks! That happened to me the first time I made Salsa. There isn't a whole lot you can do. You pretty much named all of the common cures for it. What worked best for me was soaking it in milk. Throw some ice in there to diminish the pain a little. The best thing to do (next time) is not to touch the membrane (vein with all the seeds on it) Nor the seeds. If worst comes to worst use disposable latex gloves. I'm sorry you're going through this. I know how painful it is. Take a fever reducer to see if that helps...like ibuprofen. Good Luck!

P.S don't touch your eyes. Even after you wash your hands, your eyes will burn if you touch them.Jalapeno oil burn help please???
It's so funny, because thats exactly what I did! I slept with my hand in a bowl of ice water. Otherwise I wouldn't have fallen asleep! It was so painful! It should be going away soon. Report Abuse

try going to a dollar store and buy some disposable gloves that would end all your problems
Okay, try this, take cream, sour cream whatever you have that's a thick milk product, mix with a little olive oil and put it on your hands like lotion. Wait a few minutes, rinse with cold water and repeat a couple of times. I know it's time consuming, but it works. Usually, I bite the bullet and wash the hell out of my hands with soap and warm water then rub milk and olive oil on them, but the scrubbing really hurts.
try bread, it helps in your mouth
milk is the thing that i used when this happens to me

definitely dont touch any other parts of your body with that hand
    try vinager
