It was fine up until today. It's been empty for a few days, then I filled it an hour ago. Rather than the flame look normal, you know, flame higher in the centre, it looks more like a 'U' shape. It's not burning as well as it should.
What can I do to fix it?Why does the wick on my oil lamp burn higher on the sides than the centre like it normally does?
Trim the wick flat across the top.
ADD: You may need to clip the corners off to get the flame high in the center as you describe. It depends on the shape of the metal where the wick emerges.
